PRESIDENT AND CEO: Daniel Askin, Sr.
Dan is a U.S. Air Force veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the IT consulting industry. Following his distinguished military career, he was a key player in the movement from mainframe computing to web-enabled technology within DoD. After repeatedly being told by colleagues, friends, and clients that he should start his own business, he finally took the leap and founded Savvee in 2003. He is passionate about providing outstanding customer service and has made it his mission to ensure that Savvee’s clients and employees are happy.
Dan is a graduate of American University and is a long-time Virginia resident. When he isn’t busy wearing his CEO hat, you can usually find Dan on the golf course.
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT: Kevin Askin
Kevin is a U.S. Navy veteran and a Navy Reserve Commander. With more than 25 years of experience in program management and naval aviation, he leads Savvee’s Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) group in shaping the C4I architecture, net-centric solutions, and operational concepts for Navy aircraft.
Kevin is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. When Kevin is not busy serving his clients, he spends most of his free time logging 5,000+ hours as a commercial airline pilot and flight instructor.
VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Karen Rabin
Karen has more than 20 years of experience in project management, business development, and strategic planning. She is a warm and energetic leader who excels in building opportunities to grow Savvee’s presence in the federal marketplace. In addition to Business Development, Karen oversees Savvee’s civilian contracts at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Labor.
Karen earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan. When she gets a break from her VP duties, she enjoys cooking and baking, watching her son play the drums, and cheering on her daughter in her races.
VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS: Daniel Askin, Jr.
Dan has more than 20 years of experience in program and project management and has been a Savvee employee for more than 15 years. He oversees Savvee’s strategic growth, business development, contracts management, and multiple practice areas, including Veterans Affairs, Commerce, and Library of Congress. Dan has a passion for enterprise architecture and IT investment management and has helped many agencies stand-up and mature their programs from the ground up.
Dan graduated from George Mason University’s School of Management with a degree in Marketing. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, walking and spending time with his family.
VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATIONS, FEDERAL SECTOR: Christy Mee
Christy is a U.S. Army Veteran with more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications and program and project management. Christy oversees contracts at DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and manages Savvee’s communications line of business across the federal landscape. Her passion for communications has led to growing strong, up-and-coming leaders in the field.
Christy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, emphasis in Communications, from Thomas Edison State College and Master of Arts from American Military University. In her spare time, Christy loves to pack up the kids and head out to visit family.
VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES: Chara Torrey
Chara joined Savvee in 2012 and brings more than a decade of experience in human resources, recruiting employee development, and performance management. She is passionate about engaging employees and ensuring Savvee has a strong support system in place to help them perform at their best. Before joining Savvee, Chara honed her skillsets abroad as a contractor in Kenya, Uganda, Jordan, and Iraq.
When she’s not working, Chara enjoys traveling around the world and spending time with her two daughters.
VICE PRESIDENT OF IT GOVERNANCE OPERATIONS: Mark Bradley
Mark has been a Savvee employee since our inception and is a vital member of our leadership team. He has been managing large-scale, mission-critical IT programs for more than 25 years and is a pioneer in integrating IT Governance disciplines to produce greater efficiencies. Drawing from his background as a developer, an architect, and a program manager, Mark oversees contracts at the Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mark graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Economics. Just like our CEO Dan, Mark enjoys spending his free time perfecting his golf swing.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER: Yang Lin
Yang is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than 20 years of accounting experience. He works closely with our CEO and leadership team to manage Savvee’s financial operations and strategies. He has dedicated his entire career to helping Federal contractors navigate and maintain compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Yang is a graduate of George Mason University with a degree in Accounting.
